The Hervey Bay Community Centre

The Hervey Bay Community Centre is a facility of approximately 1724m2 which provides a community meeting place as well as housing twenty existing programs and services presently operating in Hervey Bay doing so accessibly, economically and appropriately.

The Hervey Bay Community Centre  fosters innovative partnerships and unique services that benefit the people of Hervey Bay.

It is a five star environmental building, designed in consideration of Hervey Bay's natural environment and climate, and to capture prevailing breezes and harness natural light. It therefore minimize's operating costs for organisations.

The Community Centre represents a unique partnership between all three levels of government, community based organisations, the University of Southern Queensland and the community at large. It maximises resources that already exist in the community and provides rooms for regionally based services while ensuring the viability of programs and services in a rapidly growing community with no infrastructure.

  • Counselling Centre
  • Dividable Function Space
  • Interview Rooms
  • Meeting Room
  • Multicultural Garden
  • Public Internet Access
  • Bicycle Parking

The Community Centre for Hervey Bay is located on the land donated by the Fraser Coast Regional Council on the corner of Charles Street and the extension of Torquay Road.

The Hervey Bay Community Centre is managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre.

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre is a place where members of our community can meet for friendship, information, support, action on a community issue, self-development, community involvement, or to access visiting or resident services.

The Neighbourhood Centre is more than bricks and mortar. It is a building, but it is also the combination of the efforts of many people, paid & unpaid, who have energy, enthusiasm, interest, a sense of caring, perseverance, a willingness to change,  the capacity to stay in touch with local people, awareness of the needs of our community and a conviction that the Centre is an important tool in achieving people’s control over their own lives.
