Healthy Lifestyles

The Red Apple Program is a fun healthy lifestyle program for families and youth, including Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, focusing on healthy eating and physical activity.

We have designed a set of activities which are fun and practical for people while providing useful information to help improve health and well-being.

Areas activities cover include:

  • Basic Nutrition
  • Nutrition for Kids
  • Easy Budget Meal Planning
  • Cooking
  • Physical Activity


The program is being run from July 2012- March 2013 in the Fraser Coast (Hervey Bay & Maryborough) and North Burnett (Gayndah & Eidsvold) areas.  15 different Community Services will be delivering the Red Apple Program across these regions.  For information on this please contact the Red Apple Program www.redappleprogram.com

The Red Apple Program has been designed in partnership by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, Uniting Care Community and University of Southern Queensland and in consultation with Wide Bay Public Health Nutrition and Physical Activity professionals and Fraser Coast Community Health Nutritionists.  The program is funded by Queensland Health.
