The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre Migrant Settlement Program provides free assistance to refugees or migrants with low levels of English who have been in Australia less than five years
(Visa and other eligibility criteria may apply)
Assistance may include but is not limited to:

  • General settlement information, advocacy, support and referral
  • Information Sessions and Workshops
  • Document help including assistance with applications for Australian Citizenship
  • Employment, education and training referrals or workshops
  • Assistance to obtain recognition of overseas qualifications or skills
  • Skilled Migrant family support
  • Advocacy or referrals for legal or police issues
  • Support for women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to access  domestic and family violence services
  • Assistance seeking or applying for accommodation
  • Access to the Telephone Interpreter Service is available
